BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

NOVEMBER 14, 2002

The following are highlights of the November 14, 2002 Board of Education meeting with Board members Patty Piper, Michael Poore, Sally Phillips, Kevin Whiteman, Joyce Zeh, Theron Foote, and Patty Kreuzer in attendance:

¨ The Business Education Alliance’s “Schoolhouse Award” was presented to Bob Kelly of Bill’s Restaurant in recognition of this work with learning disable students during the Junior Achievement Program.

¨ Burt’s Busy Bees provided the Board of Education with a presentation of their program along with a description of the renovation work that is being planned for the old bus garage on Water Street. Several Burt’s Busy Bee students were in attendance.

¨ Bernard Donegan, Fiscal Advisor provided an overview of the refinancing for the capital bonds and the energy performance contract lease.

¨ Approval of the following appointments:

· Sarah Crane – 7^th Grade Modified Girls’ Basketball Coach

· Janeen Wilson – Substitute Teacher

· Sheila Rogers – Substitute Teacher Aide

· Christine Simon – Substitute Teacher Aide

· Colleen Wager – Substitute Food Service Helper

· Jodie Oleksyn – Substitute Food Service Helper

· Danese Howe – Substitute Teacher Aide

· Suzette Cobin – Substitute Teacher Aide

· Angelia Jeffords – Substitute Food Service Helper

· Carol Castor – Long Term Substitute, Elementary Teacher

¨ Approval of the following resignations:

- Lisa Clinton – 7^th Grade Modified Girls’ Basketball Coach

- C.S.E./C.P.S.E. recommendations
